The NYC-based producer, DJ and entrepreneur Than Nguyen is the founder of Out of Print Records and partner of the much acclaimed experimental Montez Press Radio. He approached me to visualize an editorial based around his Vietnamese-American identity and self-reflection. References from Vietnamese biker culture were mixed with high fashion and references from the underground British music culture, such as UK garage, jungle and drum and bass, from which the label "Out of Print Records" was strongly inspired.
In addition, a short visualizer on 16 mm, conceived and photographed by me, was shot to support the photo series for various platforms. The project will see the light by the end of this summer.
